Lugana is a light white wine from Northern Italy. Pleasant melon and mandarin with mint hints and some flower notes, excellent fruitfulness.
For 4 generations Malavasi family was committed in agriculture and especially in viticulture. At first most part of the wine production was used as payment to the men working on the family lands. Im the years wine production gained importance, allowing Malavasi to start selling wine to the public. Nowadays the family is envolved in a program aimed to improve the quality of the wines in a sustainable way.
100% Trebbiano di Lugana grapes come from the south part of Garda Lake, where the altitude is 88 meters above sea level. Harvest period is at the end of September. Refinement and fermentation in steel vat at controlled temperature. Lugana shows a deep straw-yellow colour with lime green notes. Its aroma is pleasant with melon and mandarin bouquet, mint hints and some flower notes. A certain astringency can be tasted, but nearly nonexisent and with excellent fruitfulness, overall dry. Serve at 10 – 12° C. Try it with all fish dishes, soups, pasta and rice starters, white meat.
